Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Delivering solutions to fluid flow problems in an easy to use, intuitive and responsive environment for SME’s, global corporations, academia and start-ups alike.

The build-up of CO, spread and damage of fire or the thermal stratification caused due to stationary vehicles – are all important considerations when building a metro or road tunnel. Our CFD team has worked with clients to provide them with solutions for the above and equipment sizing for ventilation.

Fire Spread & Fan Modelling
In case of a fire within a tunnel, CFD can be used to determine the details of the ventilation fans required to evacuate smoke from the area.

Thermal Stratification in Tunnels
CFD was used to examine the thermal flow field inside a rail tunnel, with the air conditioning exhausts operating from a stationary train.

Flow Balance & Fan Selection
When the West Connex project in Sydney required a design flow balance and pressure drop between multiple tunnels, our CFD solutions were put to the use.
